In March 1968, what would become RS-R began as a car parts shop — To-a — in Sonezaki, Osaka. By 1972 the company was producing its own brand of suspension, coilovers, and mufflers. In 1980 a dedicated RS★R production and development department opened in Toyonaka. RS-R Co., Ltd. was established in 1999.
